About Shane
Shane Evans Willinger (1987–2025)
Shane Evans was a songwriter, composer, and visual artist who lived part on earth and part in sound.
From his earliest years at the piano to his later life in Nashville, Shane used music as a way of listening — to the world, to people, to his own inner life. His songs were not performances so much as places: spaces where grief, love, wonder, and becoming could be held.
He worked across genres and traditions, not to blend them for novelty, but to follow whatever felt true. Jazz, folk, hip-hop, classical, and Americana all lived inside his creative world, shaped by curiosity and care.
Shane was also a devoted husband and father. Much of his music was written in the quiet hours between family life and late-night studio sessions — moments where art and living were never separate.
Before his passing in 2025, Shane had only begun to release a lifetime of work. His songs, recordings, writings, and visual art continue now through Between the Music, a living archive stewarded by his wife and creative partner, Veronica Willinger.
